AEs sending pricing after discovery
Proposal Email Script: Frame the Price Before the Number
The paragraph that goes above every number you send: status-quo cost, per-day math, payback period.
Subject: [Company] — numbers + one question "[Name] — as discussed, the status quo costs roughly [X]/month in [their words for the pain]. At [price], that is [per-day] per user per day, with payback in [N] months on your numbers. Full breakdown below. One question: if the numbers hold, is there anything besides [their stated concern] blocking a [date] start?"
How to deliver it
- Never send a naked number. Framed numbers invite value comparison; naked ones invite price comparison.
- Use their words for the pain, not your category language.
- End with one blocking question, not "thoughts?".
Frequently asked questions
Should I send pricing by email at all?
Only after discovery quantified the pain. Unquantified proposals get compared on price alone.
What if they forward it internally?
That is the point of the framing paragraph — it sells when you are not in the room.
How do I handle "this is over budget"?
Ask which part: total, timing, or approval. Each has a different motion.
